Two year extension for NOLA’s Malcolm May

Malcolm May has signed a contract extension with the NOLA Gold that will see him through the end of the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old Collegiate All-American follows teammates Matt Harmon and Moni Tonga’uiha in re-upping with New Orleans.

After playing just two games in 2019 due to an Achilles injury, May returned to full fitness in 2020. He started the season opener against Old Glory and came off the bench in the other four games before the season was suspended. The powerful ball carrier proved an ideal impact sub with his ability to cover all three back row positions.

NOLA will have strong competition for starting spots in the back row in 2021. Tonga’uiha and May join incumbent Eagles No8 Cam Dolan, new acquisition Devin Short, and draft pick Andrew Guerra. Versatile Chile international Nikola Bursic is also contracted through next season.
