Cam Dolan staying on with NOLA Gold

US Eagles star Cam Dolan has pledged his long-term future to the NOLA Gold. With a year to run on his existing contract, the 29-year-old has extended his deal for another two taking him through the 2022 Major League Rugby season.

Dolan started 10 games at the back of the Gold scrum in 2019 after making the move from the San Diego Legion. The Florida native has also been an integral part of the US Eagles side since his test debut in 2013. He celebrated his 50th cap during the World Cup where he started all four matches at No8.

The Gold have also confirmed the signature of burly prop James Irey for 2020. ‘Doc’ was named in two match day rosters this past season but did not see game time. The 32-year-old US Navy Corpsman has previously represented both the Capital Selects and USA South Panthers. He joins All-American duo Matt Harmon and Kevin Sullivan as loosehead options for 2019.

NOLA have now re-signed 26 players in the off-season with six new recruits and are now close to finalising their roster for the coming season. At least one front rower is expected to be added in the coming days. Among the departed are prop Hubert Buydens, flanker Zach Stryffeler, and scrumhalf Michael Baska.
