- Andrés Bordoy is no longer on Argentina’s Coaching Staff. Felipe Contepomi made the decision. Bordoy’s responsibilities included the scrum which has not been the rock that Contepomi desires. Marcos Ayerza has been rumored as Bordoy’s successor.
- USA Eagles Great Luke Gross is the newly appointed General Manager of Collegiate Rugby.
- Marcos Kremer is out for four weeks after a red card playing for Clermont vs Bayonne. He will be free to play again on October 19.
- It’s been seven years since Uruguay upset Fiji at Rugby World Cup 2019 in Kamaishi, Japan.
- Loïk Le Priol has been sentenced to 28 years prison for murdering former Puma, Federico Martín Aramburu. Romain Bouvier, who fired first, was sentenced to 19 years.
- Weekend action saw Pumas captain Julián Montoya scoring for Pau who defeated La Rochelle.
- Bautista Delguy scored for Clermont who won at home against Castres.
- Gerónimo Prisciantelli scored for Racing 92 who lost to Bayonne at home.
- Tomás Albornoz scored for Toulon against basement side Vannes.
- Perpignan were upset winners over Bordeaux but Pumas Ignacio Ruiz and Joaquín Oviedo were both injured.
- Rookie Pumas No. 8 Juan Martín Scelzo scored for Stade Français who defeated Lyon in Paris. Scelzo and Joaquín Moro filled in for Oviedo in recent test matches in which Ruiz was the starting hooker with Montoya rested. Scelzo and USA prop Jack Iscaro featured in Saturday’s Top 14 win as replacements.
- Pumas Bautista Bernasconi and Ignacio Mendy scored for Benetton in the team’s season opener on Friday. Matías Medrano made his URC debut in the match, starting at loose head. Puma Rodrigo Martínez was loose head prop for the Dragons.
- Eduardo Bello made his first URC appearance for Ulster, starting at tight head prop.
- Pedro Delgado scored for Harlequins against Bath on Friday. Santiago Carreras showed skills with a creative intercept try to help Bath win in London.
- Pedro Rubiolo is back after eight months out. The first-choice Pumas tight-head second-rower featured for Bristol Bears who defeated the Sale Sharks in an English Premiership match on Saturday.
- Elsewhere in the Premiership, Juan Martín González scored for Saracens who narrowly defeated the Tigers at Leicester. González, like Rubiolo, is yet to play for Argentina this year due to injury.
- Chileans Nicolás Herreros and Franco Velarde are getting good game-time in Spain.
