Marcos Kremer to move from Stade Français to Clermont

Marcos Kremer is to join Clermont from Top 14 rivals Stade Français. The Argentine powerhouse will make the move next season. He will make his debut for Clermont after the Rugby World Cup. Clermont is presently home to two Pumas – Tomás Lavanini and Bautista Delguy.

The trio are all former Super Rugby players for Los Jaguares. Lavanini left for the Leicester Tigers, Delguy for Perpignan and Kremer for Stade Français. Kremer went from being coached by Gonzalo Quesada at Los Jaguares to being coached by Quesada at Stade Français.

Kremer moved to Stade Français as a 22-year-old Kremer. This saw him joining Pablo Matera and Nicolás Sánchez at the club. Matera left the club for the Crusaders and will play next season in Japan. Sánchez traded Stade Français for Brive this season.

The now 25-year-old Kremer has been a professional player since his teen years. He played for the Argentina XV, Los Jaguares and Los Pumas while still playing for Los Pumitas. He presently has 53 caps for Argentina.

His move from Stade Français to Clermont will see him remaining in the Top 14. Clermont have signed the world-class Argentine on a two-year-deal. It comes with the option of a one-year extension.

From Concordia in Entre Rios, Kremer is a product of Los Espinillos. He also played for Club Salto Grande before making his senior debut for Atlético del Rosario as a 17-year-old. His regular position is flanker though he also has plenty of game time, including test starts, in the second-row.
