Danny Tusitala back for 4th year with Old Glory

Old Glory DC captain Danny Tusitala has signed on for a fourth year with the club. The 30-year-old New Zealander, who has represented Samoa in both 7s and XVs, is the first returning player formally confirmed by the team who finished at the bottom of the Eastern Conference in 2023.

Tusitala made the move to Major League Rugby after playing for Auckland in New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship. He has started every regular season game for Old Glory since their inaugural campaign in 2020, with all but one of his 37 appearances coming in the No9 shirt.

DC selected five players in last month’s Collegiate Draft – front row trio Cali Martinez, Jack Manzo, and Alex Balladares along with lock/flanker Collin Grosse and flyhalf Mike Weir. A post on social media also suggests that Facundo Gattas will return next year. The Uruguayan hooker was injured in just his second game for the club this past season.
