LA acquires Eagles flanker Hanco Germishuys from New York

The LA Giltinis have announced the acquisition of USA international Hanco Germishuys from Rugby New York. Full terms of the trade have not immediately been made public, with Germishuys signing a one-year agreement with the defending champions.

This will be the fourth Major League Rugby team for Germishuys. He lined up for Austin in 2018 and Glendale in 2019 before making the move to New York ahead of the 2020 campaign. The 25-year-old flanker played 13 games for New York this past season and six tests for the Eagles.

LA’s first choice back row of Angus Cottrell, Christian Poidevin, and Adam Ashe were all set to return in 2022. Cyrille Cama recently signed a two-year deal while Gerald Lowe was selected in the Collegiate Draft. Pago Haini meanwhile has confirmed his departure from the team with no destination indicated.
