Arrows prop Lynott to San Diego, scrumhalf Watkins to Seattle

A pair of Arrows are headed west for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. Loosehead prop Pat Lynott has signed with the San Diego Legion, while scrumhalf Reid Watkins departs for the Seattle Seawolves.

Originally from Québec, Lynott has been with Toronto since their inaugural season in 2019. He lined up for the Canadian University All-Stars against the Collegiate All-Americans later that year. The 26-year-old made 13 appearances in 2021 with a career-high 5 starts, bringing his total to 27 professional games.

Watkins, 27, was a late-season addition for the Arrows, joining on from Rugby ATL’s development side Pathway 404. The Alberta native was a national wrestling champion while in high school and has represented both the BC Bears and the USA South Panthers but is yet to make his MLR debut.
