The Dallas Jackals have confirmed their second signing of the week. Bronson Teles returns to the team he was originally signed by after playing for the Houston SaberCats this past season. The former USA u20 starter follows fellow 2020 draftee Mike Matarazzo in joining the expansion side.
Teles made 11 appearances for the SaberCats in his debut campaign. He started two games, one each at lock and blindside flanker. The 23-year-old earned 2nd team Collegiate All-American honors in 2019 and was nominated for the Rudy Scholz Award the following year.
Of the four players selected by Dallas in the 2020 Collegiate Draft, Teles is the only one slated to play for the Jackals in 2022. First overall pick Conner Mooneyham joined the Austin Gilgronis with 9th pick Tommy Clark moving to the Seattle Seawolves. Second round choice Levi van Lanen did not feature in Major League Rugby last season and is currently unattached.
