Former Puma Santiago Iglesias Valdez joins Béziers

Former Puma Santiago Iglesias Valdez has joined Béziers as a medical joker. The hooker arrives at the Pro D2 club from Fédérale 1 side Beaune. The move is a return as he played for Béziers in 2017-2018. He joined Beaune in 2018.

Iglesias Valdez is now a seasoned Argentine hooker. He was plucked out of the Argentina u20s in 2013 to tour England, Wales, and Italy in November 2013. He was a replacement for Eusebgio Guiñazú in two of the three matches.

The last of his 11 caps was in 2015 against Australia. That year saw Julián Montoya overtaking him to become the official understudy to Agustín Creevy. Since then Iglesias Valdez’ representative honors have been for the Argentina XV.

Now aged 27, Iglesias Valdez remains an option for future international duty. The Tucumán hooker will have the opportunity of playing against 2020 Tri Nations traveling reserve José Luiz González. He plays for Mont de Marsan. Also in the Pro D2 is Pablo Dimheff. He played for Los Ceibos in 2020.
