Los Cafeteros Pro draft 10 Argentine players for SLAR

Los Cafeteros Pro have drafted 10 Argentine players for the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR). As shown below Telemedellín sport journalist Santiago Ramírez tweeted the list of players. All ten players are uncapped.

The drafted players come in the form of six forwards and four backs. They are spread across most positions. The six forwards cover six positions. Loose head prop Javier Corvalán is a player known to Colombia as he played for the Argentina XV against the Tucanes in 2019. Hooker Agustín Acosta has previously trained with Los Jaguares. Second-rowers Ramiro Tallone and Lautaro Simes add height. The former played in the recent South American 4 Nations. Back-rowers Felipe Puertas and Aníbal Panceyra Garrido both played for Los Pumitas and the latter has also played for the Argentina XV and Los Pumas 7s.

All four of the drafted backs have notable resumés. Gonzalo García was the starting scrum half for Los Ceibos in 2020. Prior to that he impressed for Argentina at u20 level. Nicolás Roger has played for Los Pumas 7s as well as Argentina u20s at fly half. Facundo Pueyrredón is another to have played in the Junior World Championship. Facundo Ferrario was on the Ceibos roster in 2020.
