SoCal team added to World Tens Series

Two more teams have been confirmed for the upcoming World Tens Series being hosted in Bermuda later this month. Phoenix hails from the Middle East, while the Rhinos are a new team representing Southern California. It brings the total to seven teams confirmed with one still to be revealed.

As with the previously-confirmed Miami Sun, little is known about the Rhinos with seemingly no direct connection to either of Major League Rugby’s teams in the region – the San Diego Legion and the expansion LA Giltinis. In its current form the organization appears to be focused on youth rugby and based in Irvine.

Phoenix is also the nickname of the Lebanon national team but this entry looks to be an independent invitational side. Other teams confirmed include the revived Ohio Aviators, Asia Pacific Dragons, London Royals, and SX10 from South Africa.

The Series is set to kick off on October 24 with the Finals to be held on November 7, all played at the National Stadium in Devonshire. There will be no fans in attendance but the matches will be broadcast worldwide with details still to be announced.
