Nick Feakes signs three-year NOLA extension

Versatile backfielder Nick Feakes has agreed a new deal with the NOLA Gold that will see him sticking with the club through 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old is the 7th NOLA player to sign an extension since the league was forced to suspend the 2020 season due to COVID-19.

Originally from Canberra, Australia, Feakes joined the Gold in 2019 after graduating from Lindenwood University. He was a regular with the team in 2019, playing a starting role on the left wing but also covering flyhalf and fullback. Green card delays restricted him to only a single replacement appearance in the final game of the 2020 campaign.

Feakes was only recently confirmed by World Rugby as being eligible to represent the USA despite having attended Lindenwood since 2014. A Collegiate All-American in both 7s and XVs, he was the first NOLA player to score a hat trick in MLR, doing so against the Utah Warriors in March 2019.
