Justo Piccardo Makes Argentine History in Top 14

Justo Piccardo made history on Saturday. The Pumas center became the first Argentine to score four tries in a Top 14 match. Piccardo scored four tries for Montpellier against Montauban, three of which were in the first half. They came in the 3rd, 16th, 37th and 73rd minute marks of the match.

The tries demonstrated a strong well-rounded game. Piccardo scored with a line break and feet work in addition to calming an interception and to powering over. His variety is a weapon that has him in good stead for upcoming international competition.

Montpellier’s 59-7 win over Montauban sees Piccardo’s team occupying second position in the French Top 14. Montauban are bottom and facing certain relegation back to the Pro D2.
