A busy November awaits Canada, the USA, Chile and Uruguay in the World Rugby Nations Cup. The fixtures have been released by World Rugby with all four having three test matches against fellow Rugby World Cup 2027 competitors.
The opening match of the November section of the World Rugby Nations Cup will take place on Friday, November 06. Romania will have home advantage against Tonga at the Stadionul National Arcul de Triumf in Bucharest.
Day two will feature Americas involvement. A big day for the Americas features three World Rugby Nations Cup test matches. Georgia host Canada in Tbilisi followed by Portugal facing Chile in Lisbon and Spain vs Uruguay in Madrid. The USA will face Hong Kong at the neutral venue of Bourg-en-Bresse in France on Sunday, November 08.
Uruguay also face Zimbabwe in London and Portugal in Lisbon in November. Plenty of eyes will be on the Lisbon match as Portugal vs Uruguay is actually a sign of things to come. Os Lobos and Los Teros will cross paths at Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia. They are set to face-off at Newcastle in a pool match on October 11, 2027.
Chile also face the Portuguese. It will be Los Cóndores’ opening match of November. Chile then travel across the border to face Spain on Saturday, November 14. Chile’s final match will be in a third country with a match against Zimbabwe in Angoulême, France.
Canada play matches in Georgia, France and Romania. After opening against Georgia in Tbilisi, the Maple Leafs travel to Chámbery for their match against Hong Kong. Canada then fly east to Bucharest to face Romania on Friday, November 20.
The USA Eagles will also play their matches across Europe. After game one in Bourg-en-Bresse, France on Sunday, November 08, the Eagles travel to Bucharest to face Romania on Saturday, November 14. The tour then concludes against Georgia in Tbilisi on Saturday, November 21.
The World Rugby Nations Cup saw all matches in North America and South America in July. This meant no home games for Samoa or Tonga. In November this is similar with Europe hosting the bulk of matches meaning that Zimbabwe and Hong Kong’s matches are in neutral venues such as the aforementioned USA vs Hong Kong fixture in France.
An exception is that Hong Kong’s home match against Tonga will be played at Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground on November 21st. It has been positioned on the third, and final, weekend to allow for both Hong Kong and Tonga to play game’s one and two in Europe before traveling to East Asia.
The World Rugby Nations Cup has teams competing in two groups: Pool A – the Americas and South Pacific Ocean pool – features Canada, Chile, Samoa, Tonga, Uruguay and USA, while Georgia, Hong Kong, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Zimbabwe make up Pool B, the rest of the world group.
Each team from Pool A faces every team in the Pool B in a round-robin format in the July 2026 and November 2026 international windows. The two group winners will be the inaugural World Rugby Nations Cup Champions.
The first half of the 2026 World Rugby Nations Cup saw the USA and Georgia unbeaten. The USA claimed wins over Portugal, Zimbabwe and Spain in home matches while Georgia defeated Uruguay and Chile at their respective home grounds as well as beating Samoa in Chile.
