Argentina and the USA are set for battle at the 2026 Junior World Championship. The teams will face-off in the opening round of the World Rugby tournament in Georgia. Taking place at Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi, the contest will be a Pool C fixture.
The match is new as although Argentina’s Los Pumitas are perennial top-tier competitors, the USA Men’s U20 team has historically spent most of their time fighting for qualification in the lower-tier World Rugby U20 Trophy.
The Argentina vs USA fixture comes after World Rugby expanded the Junior World Championship for the 2026 edition. The Georgia-hosted competition features an expanded format from 12 to 16 teams, opening the door for the newly-promoted USA squad to join Pool C alongside Argentina, England, and Ireland.
The match kicks off on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 13:00 local time in Tbilisi which is 6:00am in Argentina and 5:00am in New York.
