After a bye weekend, Super Rugby Americas (SRA) returns with a full round of fixtures. Week 12 of the SRA season features four matches all of with come with implications for the play-offs. The matches will be played on Friday and Saturday.
Week 12 opens with Los Pampas at home against Os Cobras at La Catedral in Buenos Aires. Los Pampas are in tied with Los Capibaras for 2nd spot on 40 points and Os Cobras are bottom on 10. On the one hand, the home side is pushing for the maximum five competition points. On the other hand, Os Cobras are looking to overtake Yacare who have 13 points at present.
Game two of Week 12 will also be on Friday evening. It sees Peñarol at home against Los Dogos in Montevideo. Los Dogos are top of the table and are the only team this far confirmed for the play-offs. Peñarol are the defending champions but are down in 6th position. Peñarol have 27 points while Los Tarucas have 29 and Selknam is on 34.
Game three will be the first of two Saturday match-ups. It is an afternoon battle with Los Capibaras hosting Selknam. The match will take SRA to a new location as Club Atlético Estudiantes em Tortuguitas (CAE) in Paraná hosts the fixture. It is the match of the round based on where the two teams sit in the standings.
The round will close out with Los Tarucas playing host to Yacare in Tucumán. The home side is desperate for a win to follow the impressive away win over Los Pampas in Buenos Aires in Week 11. A win over Yacare is needed for Los Tarucas to push towards returning to the Semi Finals zone and not falling further behind Selknam nor being overtaken by Peñarol.
