Argentina’s dynasty at the Vancouver Series lives on. Los Pumas 7’s won the Canada Sevens tournament, defeating South Africa 19-12 in the final on Sunday. The win sees Argentina not only defending their title but also winning the Vancouver tournament for a fourth consecutive year.
Argentina’s dynasty has seen tournament final victories over four different countries. Los Pumas 7’s defeated Fiji 29-10 in the final of the 2022 tournament, France 33-21 in 2023 and New Zealand 36-12 in the 2024 Final.
The 2025 Vancouver 7’s was a three-day event. Argentina reached the final after defeating Spain 7-0 in the Semi Final and France 12-7 in the Quarter Final. The challenging road to the final came after the South Americans defeated Great Britain 19-14, France 12-5 and Kenya 24-0 in the group stage.
The next stop on the SVNS World Series will be Hong Kong. The 2025 Hong Kong Sevens will take-place on March 28-30. The subsequent events will be in Singapore in April and Los Angeles in May. Argentina leads the standings on 68 points followed by Spain on 64 points.
