Cayman Islands defeat Bermuda

Bermuda played host to the Cayman Islands in a rugby test match on Saturday. Played at North Field at the National Sports Centre, the Cayman Islands were 44-12 winners.

The fixture was part of the Rugby Americas North (RAN) qualification pathway. The competition is being played over a three year period from 2024-2026. Teams are competing for places as regional finalists for the Americas Rugby Challenge (ARCh) competition.

The match itself was preparation for the RAN Men’s XVs. The 2024 tournament started last weekend in the Port of Spain. Guyana were upset winners over hosts Trinidad & Tobago. The RAN Men’s XVs will resume on May 18 with Jamaica playing host to Bermuda.

Bermuda will play the May 18 match away against Jamaica. From there will be a home match against the Bahamas on June 01. Meanwhile, the Cayman Islands will take-on Mexico in the Cayman Islands on May 31.
