Scotland to tour to Canada, USA, Chile and Uruguay in July 2024

The July 2024 Internationals will be a busy period for test teams from the Americas. North American and South American teams will play host to matches involving some of the very best teams. Two members of the Six Nations will be on their way across the Atlantic Ocean.

Scotland are coming to the Americas. The Scottish July 2024 tour will be a busy four match stop in four different countries. Scotland will arrive in Canada and depart from Uruguay. Canada face Canada in Ottawa on July 06, the USA in Washington, DC on July 12, Chile in Santiago on Chile 20 and Uruguay in Montevideo on July 27.

Ottawa’s TD Place will be the venue for the tour opener. Audi Field in Washington DC will be the location for the USA Eagles’ match against Scotland. The South American venues are the familiar venues for Los Cóndores and Los Teros. Chile will host Scotland at the Estadio Nacional while Uruguay will do so at the Estadio Charrúa.

Scotland’s most recent match against Canada was in 2018. The Northern Europes were 48-10 winners in Edmonton. One week after that impressive win the Scot’s fell to an historic upset loss against the USA. The Eagles were 30-29 winners in Houston.

The last Scotland visits to South America was in 2002. It was for a three match series against Argentina. Los Pumas won the series with a late try to Emiliano Boffelli. The tour involved a stop in Chile with Scotland, playing as Scotland ‘A’ winning 45-5 in Santiago.

Uruguay is a new destination for Scotland. The one prior match between Uruguay and Scotland was at Rugby World Cup 2019. Scotland won 43-12 on that day in Edinburgh. However, Uruguay were the actual winners because Dave Hilton played for Scotland who was not eligible.
