Mack Mason returns to MLR with Seattle Seawolves

Mack Mason is returning to Major League Rugby. The 27-year-old flyhalf hasn’t played professionally since departing the Austin Gilgronis after the 2022 season, but has now signed on with the Seattle Seawolves for the 2024 campaign.

A first choice player for the Australia u20s, Mason struggled to find a regular place in Super Rugby with the Waratahs but found new energy in signing with Austin in 2021. He was among the league’s premier No10s in his two seasons in Texas, highly regarded both for his skills as a goal kicker and playmaker.

The announcement of Mason’s arrival comes just days after Jordan Chait was traded to LA in exchange for scrumhalf Ryan Rees. With Samoan international AJ Alatimu already under contract for 2024, it appears the Seawolves will again have strength in depth at the flyhalf position.
