Chile Release Red and White Jerseys for Rugby World Cup 2023

Chile will be playing in traditional colors at Rugby World Cup 2023. Los Cóndores will have red shirts as their regular or home uniform and have white anther alternative. This matches the regular jerseys worn by Chile, though the team has played in blue on occasion.

Rugby World Cup 2023 will be Chile’s first appearance at a Rugby World Cup tournament. Los Cóndores qualified by defeating North American opposition. Chile’s wins over Canada and the USA were both upsets and both were historic.

The outcome is that there South Americans will compete at Rugby World Cup 2023 but no North Americans will be involved. Argentina have competed at every Rugby World Cup and are two-time Semi Finalists. Uruguay have competed at four previous editions of the tournament.

While Chile’s jerseys for their Rugby World Cup debut tournament appearance are traditional the same is only patricianly true for both Argentina and Uruguay. They have notably different alternate jerseys for the competition.

Los Cóndores will compete at Pool D of Rugby World Cup 2023. Chile’s matches will be against Argentina, England, Japan and Samoa. The regular red jersey is expected to be Chile’s main uniform for the matches.

Pictured below, the alternate uniform could actually be used for any of the pool matches. The most likely, though, is Samoa. With England’s home uniform being white and Argentina’s being white and sky-blue it is not likely that Chile would wear white against these teams. Red is expected against Japan with the Asians likely to wear their alternate jersey for the match in Toulouse.
