Agustín Creevy signs for Sale Sharks

Agustín Creevy is moving north. The veteran Argentine hooker has signed for Sale Sharks from London Irish. The contract is a one season deal for the 2023-2024 English Premiership season.

The Sale Sharks will be Creevy’s third English Premiership club. He played for the Worcester Warriors from 2013-2015 before returning to Argentina to be the first captain of Los Jaguares. Additional prior professional experience include playing hooker for Montpellier and Clermont and flanker for Biarritz.

He joined Montpellier after RWC 2011. His time at the French club saw him rising to the top to become Argentina’s first choice hooker and captain in 2014. Under his leadership Argentina reached the Semi Finals of Rugby World Cup 2015.

Before joining the Sale Sharks, Creevy has set his sights on 100. With 97 test caps, Creevy is the most capped Puma of all-time. He is on Argentina’s roster currently preparing for the Rugby Championship.  He may earn cap 98 on July 08 against New Zealand in Mendoza. He made his debut aged 20 against Japan.

Creevy is a native of La Plata, Argentina and a product of Club San Luis. Fellow Puma departing London Irish, Lucio Cinti is also from La Plata. Cinti is a product of Club San Luis’ prime rivals La Plata Rugby Club.
