Seawolves confirm return of Taylor Krumrei from Gold

The Seattle Seawolves have confirmed the return of second row Taylor Krumrei for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. After missing the entirety of the 2021 season with injury he spent the past year on the books for NOLA Gold, having previously won back-to-back titles with Seattle in 2018 and 2019.

Krumrei struggled to make an impact at the Gold. He made just 5 appearances including 4 starts throughout the season, with Ignacio Dotti and Billy Stewart the preferred pairing at lock. With his 31st birthday fast approaching, Krumrei will look for more playing time in 2023.

A former USA Selects (now Falcons) representative, Krumrei joins a second row stable that currently includes returnees Rhyno Herbst and Ben Landry, and newcomer Ben Mitchell. Landry often plays on the blindside flank. Samu Manoa could also return for another campaign.

EDIT: MLR has now confirmed that the Gold will receive salary cap compensation from the Seawolves in exchange for Krumrei’s rights.
