Canadian international Corey Thomas heading to Toronto

The Toronto Arrows have acquired the rights to Canadian international forward Corey Thomas. After playing two seasons with the LA Giltinis, the 28-year-old was picked by San Diego in the Dispersal Draft but will instead move north with salary cap considerations heading to the Legion in exchange.

Thomas was cast in a supporting role in LA, making 24 appearances between the 2021 and 2022 seasons. His versatility saw him alternating between lock, blindside flanker, and No8. He started all four tests for Canada in 2022 and now has 11 caps.

With five specialist loose forwards already on the books at the Arrows, Thomas could challenge for a starting lock position. The 6’4″ (1.94m) forward joins Mason Flesch as an option in both the second and back rows. Specialist locks are Mike Sheppard, Adrian Wadden, and Micaiah Torrance-Reid.
