Old Glory acquires KoiKoi Nelligan, signs Alejo Daireaux

Old Glory DC have acquired Army West Point star KoiKoi Nelligan from the San Diego Legion in exchange for a 1st round pick in the 2023 Collegiate Draft. At the same time the club has signed Argentine flanker Alejo Daireaux ahead of the upcoming Major League Rugby campaign.

Nelligan helped lead the Black Knights to their first ever D1A national collegiate title this past year. The 23-year-old was then selected by San Diego in the third round of the 2022 Collegiate Draft, and subsequently played for the USA Falcons in Montevideo. A hooker or flanker, he now joins his hometown club for his first season as a professional.

Daireaux, 26, is the latest South American addition to Old Glory. An openside flanker, he has featured for the famous San Isidro Club (SIC) in Buenos Aires since 2016. He follows countrymen Lautaro Bavaro, Joaquín Díaz Bonilla, and US-eligible Fermín Martínez to DC.
