New York re-signs back duo Quinn Ngawati and Troy Lockyear

Rugby New York have re-signed two members of the backline for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. Quinn Ngawati and Troy Lockyear return for their 3rd and 4th seasons with the club respectively.

Ngawati, 23, played a largely supporting role for New York this past year. The Canadian international played 15 games with 4 starts. His ability to cover both center or wing made him ideal for the No23 shirt that he wore during the Championship Final against Seattle.

Injury again disrupted Lockyear’s campaign. After starting 9 of the team’s first 11 games, he suffered a season-ending hamstring injury against New Orleans in May. The 26-year-old joins returnees Andrew Coe and Ed Fidow in New York’s back three, as well as newcomer Nick Feakes.
