Big Names on Uruguay Roster for Sevens World Cup Camp

Big names are on Uruguay’s roster to prepare for the 2022 Rugby Sevens World Cup. Six players from the test team, Los Teros, are on the fourteen man roster to prepare for the most important competition of the year and one of the most important of the Seven-man-code, the other being the Olympic Games.

Juan Manuel Alonso, Bautista Amaya, Bautista Basso,  Tomás Etcheverry, Carlos Deus and Mateo Viñals join eight other players that are to prepare at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in the USA. The team will train at the facilities until August 02.

Uruguay will compete at the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series in Santiago, Chile on August 12-14. The winners will achieve core status for the 2023 the World Rugby Sevens Series. The Rugby Sevens World Cup will follow. The competition will take place in Cape Town, South Africa from September 9-11.
