Emiliano Boffelli Wins Edinburgh Player of the Year

And the Glen Moray Players’ Player of the Season goes to… Emiliano Boffelli. The Puma was voted Glen Moray Players’ Player of the Season by his Edinburgh teammates. In his first season in the United Rugby Championship (URC), Boffelli made more than an impression.

Boffelli moved from Racing 92 to Edinburgh for the 2022-2023 season. His move followed him reclaiming the starting fullback position for Los Pumas in 2021.

The 27-year-old played 25 matches during what classifies as the 2021-2022 season. Four were in the Rugby Championship and three were Argentina’s November test matches. Boffelli played eighteen matches for Edinburgh. They were spread between wing and fullback but were all in the starting line-up.

Boffelli played 1403 minutes for Edinburgh. He scored eight tries and kicked 38 goals during the season.

Edinburgh noted that:

“The Argentine internationalist has made an instant impact since arriving in November, coupling his aerial ability with courageous defence and skilled place-kicking.

Boffelli was last week named in the Pumas squad to face Scotland this summer, so Edinburgh fans can expect to see plenty more of the man they call ‘Boff’ in the coming weeks.”
