Julián Montoya scores in Leicester Tigers away win over Bristol Bears

The Leicester Tigers unbeaten run continues. In the club’s final match of 2021, the Tigers were 28-26 winners over the Bristol Bears. Argentine captain Julián Montoya scored a second half try in the away winning effort.

The Leicester Tigers were behind for the majority of the match but were able to seal a win with time up on the match clock. The match saw a number of fightback from the Tigers. Bristol had been 13-3 ahead at one stage. Montoya’s try followed to see the teams level.

The Bristol Bears then went ahead again. Callum Sheedy gave the home side a 26-23 lead only for Leicester to respond again and sneak in the win.

Montoya was one of two Pumas involved for the Leicester Tigers. Center Matías Moroni joined his country’s captain in the starting lineup. Moroni had a strong match; he was notably creative with ball in hand.
