Santiago Cordero named in Champions Cup Team of the Season

Argentine winger Santiago Cordero has been selected in the official Champions Cup Team of the Season. The Pumas flyer is one of two Bordeaux Bègles players to make the cut, with selections based on official Opta statistics. He is the only player from the Americas in the team.

Despite playing just three of Bordeaux’s five games during the tournament, Cordero led the competition with four tries scored – a mark matched three others. Most notably he scored a hat-trick against the Dragons in December. Cordero missed both the Round of 16 and Semi Final matches.

Title-winners Toulouse have three players in the team including European Player of the Year Antoine Dupont. Runners-up La Rochelle supply the most with four nominations. 11 of the 15 selected play for the French clubs with two each provided by Exeter and Leinster.
