Jardel Vettorato and Lucas Tranquez out from Cobras

Jardel Vettorato and Lucas Tranquez are out for Os Cobras Brasil XV. The Brazilian test tight head and fullback will miss the second half of the 2021 Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) season.

Both men have been regulars for Brazil in recent years. They both also played for Os Cobras in the first half of the SLAR season in Chile. Neither player, however, is with the team in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Head Coach Emiliano Bergamaschi has a 30-man roster with him in Uruguay. On the one hand, Vettorato and Tranquez are the two notable omissions. On the other hand, props Lucas Abud and Joel Ramirez both return.

The 30-man roster contains 25 players who are based in Brazil. The remaining five are Argentines. They are hooker Santiago Grippo, prop Alejandro Luna, second-rower Manuel Bernstein, winger Marcos de Sanctis, and fullback Franco Guidice.

Os Cobras Brasil XV have 1 win from the opening five rounds of the 2021 SLAR season. Their next match is against competition leaders, Los Jaguares XV on Sunday.
