SLAR 2021 – Season Fixtures

The 2021 Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) season will begin on Tuesday, March 16. The 2021 SLAR season is divided into three stages. First, five rounds of the regular season will be played in Santiago and Valparaiso, Chile. Second, Montevideo will host rounds six to ten of the regular season. Third, Montevideo will host the Semi Finals and Final.

The regular season will begin on Tuesday, March 16. The three matches will be Peñarol vs Olímpia Lions; Selknam vs Cafeteros Pro; and Cobras vs Jaguares XV. All matches will be played at the Estadio La Pintana in Santiago.

The opening match between Peñarol and the Olímpia Lions will kick-off at 1pm (Chile). Game two will kick-off at 4:30pm and game three at 8pm.

Round two will also be at the Estadio La Pintana. After thhat Valparaiso will play host to three consecutive rounds. All matches in rounds three, four, and five will take place at the Estadio Elías Figueroa. They will take place on March 25, March 30, and April 04.

Matches in Montevideo will be played in April and May. All of the will be played at the Estadio Charrúa. They will begin on April 11 with the same fixtures as those from round one. The Semi Finals are to be played on Saturday, May 08 and the final on Saturday, May 15.

All matches will be played behind closed doors. The decision was made in consultation with the local governments. Also confirmed is that all matches will be refereed in Spanish. This includes matches involving Cobras Brasil XV as well as matches officiated by Brazilian Cauã Ricardo. Matches will not be officiated in the English language. Matches will be broadcast live by ESPN in Latin America.
