Cantorna and Hunt star in thrilling Exeter win over Wasps

North American exports accounted for all of Exeter’s points on Saturday as they came from behind to secure a late 31-29 road win over Wasps. What many are calling the Game of the Season is the 7th win in a row for the surging Chiefs, who are now just two points behind 4th-place Wasps on the table.

Cantorna earned Player of the Day honors after a five-from-five performance off the kicking tee including the match-winning penalty just three minutes before full-time. The US Eagles center then saved the win with a last-gasp tackle that prevented a certain try to bring on the final whistle.

A pair of Canadians scored Exeter’s four tries. Hunt was equally worthy of Cantorna’s recognition as the in-form second row powered over for a hat-trick. Taylor Black scored the other try, a momentum-changer early in the second half after a long break-out from Kate Zackary.
