LA signs Belmont Shore strongman Mafi Seanoa

The LA Giltinis have announced the signing of loosehead prop Mafi Seanoa for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Born and raised in Los Angeles, the 26-year-old joins from Belmont Shore in the Pacific Rugby Premiership. He played opposite the San Diego Legion during the 2020 MLR preseason.

At 6’1″ (1.86m) and 290lbs (132kg), Seanoa is a colossal figure whose rampaging ball carrying made highlight reels in 2017. He then spent time with Seattle Rugby in the BC Premier League. Despite his Samoan heritage Seanoa is relatively new to rugby, having previously played collegiate football for the Cerritos College Falcons.

LA have now confirmed two props for the upcoming season with ex-Raptors loosehead Blake Rogers the other. Second row Dave Dennis and No8 Adam Ashe have been signed from European clubs with Tongan hooker Mahe Vailanu following Head Coach Darren Coleman from Australia’s Shute Shield.
