LA confirms former Wallabies hooker Adam Freier as GM

The LA Giltinis have emerged from their slumber. Major League Rugby’s 13th team has confirmed former Wallabies hooker Adam Freier as their new General Manager. The 40-year-old joins previously announced coaches Darren Coleman and Stephen Hoiles on the expansion side’s staff.

Freier won 25 caps for Australia between 2002 and 2008. He has shared a close connection with Hoiles over the years. Both came through the Randwick club, were teammates at the Waratahs and Wallabies, and each are currently Directors with the Classic Wallabies. In fact Freier has remained an active player with Randwick, regularly used as a replacement in the Shute Shield this season.

Off the field Freier has been a regular contributor to the Sydney Morning Herald and has featured on the ABC Offsiders program. He is a past-President of Australia’s Rugby Union Players Association.
