Parfrey and McRogers extend Arrows contracts

Patrick Parfrey and Jack McRogers have extended their stay with the Toronto Arrows through the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Though neither appeared in the 2020 season due to its suspension, both are established Arrows veterans having played for the club under the previous Ontario banner.

Parfrey, who turns 29 next month, enjoyed arguably the best year of his career in 2019. He won the starting fullback spot for Canada at Rugby World Cup 2019 and was voted the Players’ Player of the Year by his peers. The St. John’s, Newfoundland, native adds versatility and experience to an exceptional group of Arrows backs for 2021 that now boasts former Pumas stars Manuel Montero and Joaquín Tuculet.

Just a few days shy of his 22nd birthday, McRogers is the third choice hooker for Toronto behind Andrew Quattrin and Steven Ng. All three graduated through Canada’s national u20 side. McRogers made his MLR debut against Utah in March 2019 and also featured against Austin later that year.
