ARN Player of the Week – Jordan Olsen

This past weekend saw the European Semi Finals taking place, the third round of the Mitre 10 Cup, Week 11 of the Shute Shield, and the 4th week of the Pro D2 season. Also on offer was a trial match featuring many of Chile’s top players as they prepare for the upcoming South American Championship.

Two players who have been consistently in the frame were so again this past weekend. Juan Imhoff scored the game-winning try for Racing 92 against Saracens, while Facundo Isa picked up a try in Toulon’s win over Leicester. Manuel Leindekar was excellent in an 80-minute effort for Oyonnax against Provence, and Marcelo Torrealba impressed during the Cóndores trial.

Our Player of the Week inspired his team to a road win in the Mitre 10 Cup. Jordan Olsen went head-on against Kieran Read’s Counties Manukau team and won. The Canada XV hooker didn’t just captain the Taniwha, he was also a try-scorer. Olsen could see more international opportunities in 2021.
