Quesada Names Jaguares Roster for 2020 Super Rugby

Gonzalo Quesada has named Los Jaguares’ roster for the 2020 Super Rugby campaign. He has done so ahead of the pre-season training regime.

For 2020 Los Jaguares will retain their coaching staff from 2019. As such Gonzalo Quesada remains Head Coach with Juan de la Cruz Fernández Miranda, and Andrés Bordoy as his assistants.

Their roster contains eight new players. Of them winger Mateo Carreras; flanker Santiago Grondona; N8 Juan Bautista Pedemonte; and tight head Joel Sclavi had already all signed in advance of today’s roster announcement. They are to be joined by fly half Tomás Albornoz, second-rower Ignacio Calas; flanker Santiago Montagner; centers Juan Pablo Castro, Santiago Chocobares, and Lucas Mensa as the rookies.

Sclavi is back from France to have a first taste at Super Rugby. The remaining newcomers have all been elevated from Los Pumitas or the Jaguares XV to Los Jaguares.

The roster contains 41 names with 22 being forwards, and 19 backs. There are at least three players across all positions. Where there are two there are additional names covering. Javier Ortega Desio and Santiago Montagner are listed in their natural position of flanker but have experience at N8; wingers Santiago Carreras, Bautista Delguy cover fullback as does center Juan Cruz Mallía while Matías Moroni covers wing.
