Shawn Riley re-signs for NOLA Gold

Shawn Riley will be back in Gold for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The Ohio native suited up for the Aviators during the 2016 PRO season and returned from the rugby wilderness to sign his second professional contract for NOLA ahead of the 2019 campaign.

Despite seeing little playing time this past season, Riley will add depth to the Gold backline. The speedy winger made just two appearances with his lone start coming in the win over the Arrows in Toronto. We was an unused replacement at snow-covered Zions Bank Stadium against Utah in March.

The Gold now have 16 players re-signed and three confirmed incoming – prop Dino Waldren and versatile backs Carl Meyer and Robbie Coleman. There are two confirmed departures from the backs divsion – Tadhg Leader’s brief loan from New England has ended, while fullback Cameron Troxler will focus on academics next year.
