Aaron Mitchell re-signs with Legion

The San Diego Legion have re-signed prop Aaron Mitchell for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. He is the 12th extension confirmed by the club during the off-season, following captain Joe Pietersen, with six newcomers announced.

Mitchell was one of three tighthead props on the roster during the 2019 campaign, and will be the only one to return in 2020 with Paddy Ryan opting to spend the upcoming season in Japan and Dino Waldren departed for NOLA. The youngest of the three, Mitchell played 11 games during the season with one start.

An age-grade All-American in rugby, Mitchell was a standout collegiate football player for the Fresno State Bulldogs before opting to return to the rugby pitch. The 23-year-old is due to train with English Premiership club Bath before returning to San Diego ahead of the upcoming season.
