Kyle Baillie signs 3-year extension with NOLA

NOLA’s contract renewal spree continues with the signing of Canadian international Kyle Baillie to a three-year extension that will see him wearing Gold through the end of the 2022 Major League Rugby Season. The 28-year-old follows Tristan Blewett, Eric Howard, and Nikola Bursic in recent long-term signings.

Baillie made a big impression for the Gold in his first season of MLR after joining from London Scottish. He played eight games, starting at lock, blindside flanker, and No8 after returning from the Americas Rugby Championship. An ankle injury cut Baillie’s season short but not before he proved a dominant figure in both the lineout and his loose play.

Next on Baillie’s schedule is the Pacific Nations Cup followed by the World Cup in Japan where he is expected to be a key member of the Canadian forward pack. He is likely to be joined by clubmates Howard and Hubert Buydens, with the latter still to be confirmed for the 2020 MLR campaign.
