Trainor scores two for Nevers against Colomiers

Conor Trainor scored two tries for Nevers in their 38-12 win over Colomiers on Friday. They were the first scores of the Pro D2 season for the Canadian center, who has played in 10 games so far this season. USON are currently in top spot with seven rounds to go and are pushing for promotion to the Top 14.

The first try was a spectacular intercept that saw Trainor break two tackles and sprint 60 meters under the posts. The second was an opportunistic score at the hour mark. With no-one at home on the blindside Trainor snuck around the corner to get the touchdown.

It’s been a long road back for the 29-year-old since injuring his Achilles while playing for Canada. Trainor was used as an impact sub during the Repechage series in November and is now gunning for a return to the starting lineup ahead of the upcoming World Cup  in Japan.
