Ledesma Trims Roster to 30 to Face New Zealand

Mario Ledesma has trimmed his roster to 30 players to face New Zealand. This sees seven players who trained this week released ahead of next weekend’s Rugby Championship match in Buenos Aires.

Of the 30 players included the most notable name is Ramiro Herrera. He joined the roster from France earlier this week and is expected to start at Tight Head against both the All Blacks and Wallabies. Ledesma, meanwhile, has released Enrique Pieretto.

The notable omission is that of Ramiro Moyano. The in-form winger suffered a broken rib in the win over Australia on the Gold Coast. He may also not play against the Wallabies in Salta.

Moyano was officially listed by the UAR as participating in an invitational capacity. The same is true of 7’s star Matías Osadczuk, and second-rower Lucas Paulos. The trio have all been trimmed from the roster.

Also out of facing New Zealand are back-rowers Rodrigo Bruni and Leonardo Senatore. With Tomás Lezana back to fitness this sees Ledesma having five players to choose from for the three starting positions and one bench spot.

Back in the roster is winger Sebastián Cancelliere and centers Matías Orlando and the uncapped Santiago Álvarez Fourcade. Joaquín Díaz Bonilla missed out with Santiago González Iglesias instead joining rookie Juan Cruz Mallía in covering fly half.
