Guemes Extends Barcelona Contract

Bautista Guemes has extended his contract with Barcelona. The 28-year-old will remain at the Spanish club next season, furthering his professional career.

Barcelona is the third professional rugby that Guemes has played for. He firstly departed CUBA in Buenos Aires to play in France for Agen. From there he went from the Top 14 to the Pro D2 to play for Vannes and subsequently to Barcelona.

In his first season with Barcelona Guemes played 21 matches. His return was 167 points.

Despite being uncapped by Argentina, Guemes was a promising player from an early age. In 2008 he played for Argentina U18’s and went on to play for both the U19’s and U20’s.

At senior level Guemes played for the Buenos Aires provincial side, also doing so at 7’s. He was in the Argentina XV set-up from 2011-2014 and involved in PladAR in 2014.
