Scully Scores as Cardiff Blues Qualify for Champions Cup

Blaine Scully scored a try in a win which saw the Cardiff Blues qualify for the Champions Cup. The USA Eagles captain crossed for a second half try in the Blues’ 45-12 away victory over the Southern Kings on Saturday.

So impressive were the Cardiff Blues early on that they held a 33-0 lead at half time. This was a Welsh team playing away against a former Super Rugby franchise in South Africa.

The Cardiff Blues managed seven tries in all with six different players scoring. Scully’s try saw smart work from the Californian to gather a kick through from fly half Jarrod Evans.

The Cardiff Blues next match in the Guinness Pro 14 is against Ospreys on April 28. It is to be one half of the annual Judgement Day at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Before then the Cardiff Blues have a home Semi Final in the European Challenge Cup. They play host to Top 14 side Pau at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday April 21.
