Paraguay to Host RWC Qualifier vs Colombia / Mexico in November

Paraguay is to host a Rugby World Cup qualifier against Colombia or Mexico in November. Paraguay’s national rugby stadium, the Heroes de Curupaytí will host the fixture on Saturday November 19.

The visiting country to Asunción will be determined this coming Saturday. Set to play in another Rugby World Cup qualifier are Colombia and Mexico. That fixture will be played at the Estadio Cincuentenario in Medellín, Colombia.

Both fixtures are to be winner-takes-all. For either Colombia or Mexico a loss will mean elimination for the road to Japan 2019. Los Cóndores will have home advantage and, based on Americas Rankings, enter as favorites.

The three countries are ranked 7th, 8th and 9th in the Americas at present. Ahead of them are the six countries that participate in the Americas Rugby Championship. 10th spot, meanwhile, is occupied by Trinidad & Tobago.
