Americas Players in Aviva Premiership – Week 2

The second round of the English league will take place this weekend. From Friday through Sunday six matches will be staged. Involved will be a host of Americas players. With the opening round full of surprises Week 2 promises to be equally exciting.

A classic local derby between Worcester and Gloucester takes place at Sixways on Friday. Pumas World Cup lock Mariano Galarza will feature again for the visitors. This will be the fourth time Galarza has run out against his former club, having spent the 2013-14 season with the Warriors.

Also on Friday, Sale Sharks look to bounce back from a shock loss to Newcastle Falcons as they host Harlequins at AJ Bell Stadium in Salford. AJ MacGinty has recovered from a minor knock that forced him out of the weekend’s game at half-time, taking his place in the starting lineup once again. Playing wing for Harlequins will be Marland Yarde, the English international from St. Lucia.

[EDIT: AJ MacGinty is a late withdrawal from the Sale Sharks lineup, still suffering from a hamstring injury.]

The Falcons travel to The Rec to play Bath on Saturday. Both Evan Olmstead and Juan Pablo Socino reprise their roles in the starting lineup, with Chicago-born prop Paddy Ryan and Ohio Aviators standout Dom Waldouck on the bench. Marcos Ayerza is again at loosehead prop as Leicester square off against Wasps at Welford Road in another derby that promises plenty of fireworks.

Sunday’s action sees Northampton Saints travel to Ashton Gate with Gastón Cortes finding a place in the starting Bristol front row once again. Marcelo Bosch will play outside centre for Saracens with Juan Figallo on the bench in a rematch of the 2015-16 Aviva Premiership final at Exeter.
