Old Glory re-signs second row Tevita Naqali

Old Glory DC have re-signed Tevita Naqali for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 28-year-old joins fellow Fijian lock Api Naikatini in returning for a third campaign, with former England age grade international Stan South back for his second.

Naqali has been an automatic selection since arriving in DC ahead of the 2020 season. He has played 18 of 21 MLR games in that time, all but one starts. Most appearances have come in the second row but the 6’5″ (1.95m) ball carrier also started once each at blindside flanker and number eight.

In addition to the team’s three senior locks, Old Glory had young American prospects Casey Renaud and David Beach on the roster in 2021. Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz is the only back row publicly extended for 2022, though Cory Daniel and Matt Gordon were both included on the club’s u23 academy roster.
