Ben Landry to make rugby return with Seattle Seawolves

Ben Landry is returning to the rugby pitch sooner than expected. The US Eagles lock has put an end to his self-imposed hiatus and could suit up for the Seattle Seawolves as early as Sunday in his first action since playing for the New England Free Jacks in March of last year.

After playing for the Glendale Raptors in 2018, Landry spent a season in England with Ealing Trailfinders prior to Rugby World Cup 2019. He appeared in three matches in Japan, bringing his cap total to 25 since his 2016 debut. Landry represented the Barbarians against Brazil in November 2019.

The 30-year-old, who can also play on the blindside flank, played one match for the Free Jacks before the season was cancelled. Landry’s rights were acquired by the Seawolves for financial considerations and he now joins fellow rugby returnee Samu Manoa with the former champions.
