Dallas signs young Canadian lock Hank Stevenson

The Dallas Jackals have announced the signing of 20-year-old lock Hank Stevenson for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Arriving from the Toronto Nomads club, the 6’5″ (1.96m) forward is the first Canadian player to sign for the expansion franchise.

Stevenson has taken an unusual representative pathway for a second row having played for Canada at the Rugby Sevens event of the 2017 Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas. He was a trialist for the national u20s in both 2018 and 2019, and played on the team’s spring tour to Europe in 2019.

In June of last year Stevenson started for the Ontario Blues in an exhibition contest against Old Glory DC. At the university level he played for the Laurier Golden Hawks, the same school as current Arrows and Canada hooker Andrew Quattrin.
